We're pretty stoked to hear this latest chit-chat.
Britney Spears is revving up her return to the public arena.
Putting all bad experiences behind her, she's ready to move on...
As it's been announced that the pop princess of old will open the show for the MTV Video Music Awards this weekend.
Brit's last appearance at the bash in 2007 was a notorious flop, with her failing to lip-sych properly and struggling through basic dance
routines.
However, it's all change this year as Britney - who is up for three gongs at the ceremony - continues to clean up her act.
"MTV has long played an important role in my career. How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMAs?" Brit told People of the surprise move.
"I'm excited to open the entire show, to say hi to my fans and to be nominated."
It's not been revealed yet how exactly she'll open the show, although sources have indicated it won't involve a music performance.
